My educational philosophy centers around creating a caring classroom community where students feel valued. In this nurturing environment it is safe to take risks, ask questions and make mistakes. We will explore using all of our senses. Students will learn how to take ownership of their learning and let their natural curiosity guide inquiry. Students will develop transdisciplinary skills that will prepare them for lives of action and integrity.
My classroom management style promotes clear goals, consistent progress and compassionate care while focusing on the whole child development, not just test scores. My classroom is always multisensory and language rich. My goal is for students to feel like school is a positive place where learning is an ongoing adventure. |

It is a dream-come true to join the Spicewood Panther Family as a Kindergarten Teacher. I graduated from Austin College in Sherman, Texas and majored in English and Communication Arts.
I received my Early Childhood Teaching Certification from Southern Methodist University. I am ESL certified and have been employed in education as a teacher and librarian for 14 years. Early Childhood Literacy is a great passion for me. My parents owned a children’s book store while I was growing, which greatly influenced my love of children’s books and learning. I look forward to sharing adventures in learning with your children. I have been married 16 years and have a six year old son in first grade at Spicewood. We also have a silly dog named Sparky. My hobbies include reading, journaling, playing with Legos and going on adventures with my family. |
